Avi Pelossof

Avi Pelossof is collaborating with Water Street’s team on opportunities to invest in and grow diagnostics and life sciences businesses. With more than two decades of global healthcare experience, he has built multiple businesses specializing in clinical diagnostic tools and technologies that have contributed to improving patients’ lives. Most recently, Avi served as president and CEO of Immucor, where he spearheaded the company’s turnaround. He was instrumental in expanding Immucor’s portfolio of transfusion and transplant IVD products, and facilitating its successful sale to global specialty diagnostics company, Werfen. Avi also served as global president of the Infectious Disease business unit at Alere, where he spearheaded its growth into a worldwide business that achieved multiple product innovations, including developing the first CLIA-waived point-of-care molecular test. Avi also held senior positions at Chembio Diagnostics Systems, where he led commercial initiatives that extended the company’s point-of-care tests across 25+ countries. Avi started his career at Citibank, where he was vice president of the Latin America Capital Markets Group. He earned a bachelor’s degree in economics from the University of Michigan and a master’s degree in business administration from New York University. Originally from Spain, Avi is fluent in Spanish and French.
