Scott Garrett has more than 35 years of experience leading global businesses specializing in diagnostics, life sciences, medical products, specialty distribution and laboratory services. Scott previously served as chairman, president & CEO of Beckman Coulter, where he led the company through an eight-year period of value creation, establishing it as a leader in biomedical testing. Scott began his career at Baxter International, advancing to group vice president and CEO of Baxter’s global laboratory products subsidiary. He led the buyout of that business, becoming chairman, president and CEO of Dade Behring. Scott also founded Garrett Capital Advisors, where he first worked with members of Water Street’s team. Scott is the founding chairman and chairman emeritus of AdvaMed Dx and serves on its executive committee. He is chairman of Alcor Scientific, Avantik, HCW Biologics and Pathnostics, and a director of Hologic and MeMed Diagnostics. Scott received a bachelor’s degree in engineering from Valparaiso University, a master’s in business administration from Lake Forest Graduate School of Management and completed the Stanford University Executive Program.
