Scott Garrett has more than 35 years of experience leading global healthcare businesses with emphasis in diagnostics, life sciences, medical products, specialty distribution and laboratory services. He has completed more than 40 mergers and acquisitions over the course of his career, building substantial shareholder value. Scott most recently served as chairman, president & CEO of Beckman Coulter, Inc. He led the company through an eight-year period of growth and value creation establishing it as a leader in biomedical testing. Scott began his career in R&D at Baxter International. He advanced to group vice president and CEO of Baxter’s global laboratory products subsidiary and led the buyout of that business in 1994, becoming chairman, president and CEO of Dade Behring, Inc. He and his team built Dade Behring into a global clinical diagnostics company. Prior to Beckman, Scott founded Garrett Capital Advisors and partnered with members of the Water Street team to build a group of private healthcare companies. Scott has been an active member of AdvaMed for many years and was the founding Chairman of AdvaMed Dx, an industry association focused on in vitro diagnostics. He serves as chairman of Pathnostics. He is chairman emeritus of AdvaMedDX and also serves on the boards of ALCOR Scientific, Immucor, Inc. and Hologic, Inc. Scott received a bachelor’s degree in engineering from Valparaiso University, a master’s in business administration from Lake Forest Graduate School of Management and completed the Stanford University Executive Program.
