Hunter Schmidt has helped Water Street build a distinguished group of companies specializing in medical products and pharmaceutical services. In addition to identifying new investment opportunities, he collaborates with our family of companies to drive strategic growth. Hunter currently works with leadership teams at Discovery Life Sciences, a biospecimen and biomarker lab services company; Safeguard Medical, a global provider of emergency medical technologies and training; and Solvias, a global provider of chemistry, manufacturing, and control analytics to the life science industry. Beyond his investment work, Hunter serves on the board of Chicago Children’s Charities, a non-profit that provides education and community enrichment funding to positively impact the lives of local children. Prior to joining Water Street, Hunter was an investment banking analyst for Baird’s Technology & Services Group, where he focused on mergers, acquisitions, and strategic transactions. He earned a bachelor’s degree in economics from Vanderbilt University.
