Water Street Merges Three Businesses to Form Leading First Responder Company
Chicago – Water Street Healthcare Partners, a strategic investor focused exclusively on the health care industry, announced today that it has merged three businesses to form a leading company serving first responders. Combat Medical Systems, Prometheus Medical and Trauma FX Ltd. have joined forces to create a powerful offering of life-saving products, kitting capabilities and training programs.
All three businesses are highly complementary and regarded for their specialized products and training programs dedicated to supporting first responders in saving lives:
- Headquartered in Charlotte, North Carolina, USA, Combat Medical is a leading provider of kitted emergency medical solutions for military and law enforcement organizations.
- Prometheus Medical, based in Hereford, UK, is recognized for its world-class emergency medical products, clinical governance services and skills training capabilities serving government agencies, military organizations, civilian emergency medical services and global corporations.
- Located in Topcliffe, UK, Trauma FX specializes in the creation of high-fidelity training mannequins, wearable wounds and simulation services used to create realistic scenarios for hands-on life-saving skills training programs.
The executives of Combat Medical, Prometheus Medical and Trauma FX will serve on the leadership team of the newly combined company, which will be known as Safeguard Medical. Adam Johnson, an executive advisor with Water Street, has been appointed chief executive officer. Mr. Johnson, who was instrumental in facilitating the merger, has spent his entire career in the medical products industry, most recently as an executive with Zimmer Biomet.
“This merger is an important first step toward our goal of building a global leader dedicated to developing life-saving products and teaching emergency medical skills for any environment and every skill level. I am privileged to work with the leaders of Combat, Prometheus and Trauma FX, as well as their teams, who have collectively demonstrated a deep commitment to saving lives. By coming together to form Safeguard Medical, we have a significant opportunity to grow our combined platform of complementary products and services to play a more meaningful role in the emergency medical products and skills training markets,” said Mr. Johnson.
Combat Medical, Prometheus Medical and Trauma FX will continue to operate and serve customers under their existing names and brands.
