Tony Masso is the former president and chief executive officer of Consortium Health Plans, a coalition of Blue Cross Blue Shield plans focused on growing national account market share. He has served on the boards of more than 15 companies including managed care organizations, physician partnerships and venture-backed startups. His experience includes serving as president of Physicians Litho Group and executive vice president of Integrated Health Services. Tony was senior vice president of the Health Insurance Association of America, where he planned and implemented a major transformation of indemnity insurers into managed care networks. As senior vice president of Aetna Health Plans, he led East Coast operations for HMO and POS plans. Tony also served as a senior executive with the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, and as a legislative aide for the U.S. Senate, National Centers for Disease Control and a special assistant to the Peace Corps. He received his master’s in public administration from Syracuse University and his bachelor’s degree from the University of Rhode Island.
