Scott Atkin is an accomplished executive with more than 25 years of experience driving growth in start-ups and large multi-national organizations serving the life science and diagnostics markets. He has founded several high-tech businesses and served in executive officer positions in the public sector. Prior to Water Street, Scott had an extensive career with Beckman Coulter, Inc. During his tenure, the company grew from $1 billion to nearly $4 billion in revenue. Throughout his career, Scott assumed increasing responsibilities, ultimately becoming a senior executive where he oversaw multiple business units, including clinical chemistry and life sciences. He also led global engineering R&D supporting all of the company’s business units and product lines. Following Danaher Corporation’s acquisition of Beckman, Scott remained to establish and lead Beckman Coulter Life Sciences as its president. Prior to Beckman, Scott was president of SAGIAN, Inc., a start-up company providing services to research markets in the life sciences and chemical industries. Scott is currently managing partner of IOI Partners, LLC, an organization he co-founded to provide companies with strategic alternatives for non-core product lines. In addition, he serves on the board of Vision-Tech Partners. Scott began his career as a senior research chemist with The Dow Chemical Company. He received bachelor’s degrees in chemistry and computer science from Butler University.
